Superbike Racing this weekend at Atlantic Motorsport Park

Meet the riders at Pro Cycle on Thursday evening

Dartmouth, NS  - The Mopar CSBK Canadian Superbike Championship is heading to Atlantic Canada for Rounds 3 and 4 of the national motorcycle racing series.

Presented by Pro Cycle and Honda Canada, the third and fourth CSBK rounds of the 2016 season will be held at Atlantic Motorsport Park near Shubenacadie, NS July 15-17. The doubleheader weekend will host races on both Saturday and Sunday. Qualifying sessions will take place on Friday.

Known for exciting and memorable races, the 2.56 KM (1.6 mile) 11-turn circuit will not disappoint fans with races from all categories in the CSBK Championship, including the Kawasaki Ninja 300 Spec Series, Shoei Helmets Amateur Sport Bike, Magneti Marelli Amateur Superbike, Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike, and of course the feature Mopar Pro Superbike class.

10 time national Superbike champion Jordan Szoke has won all three races so far in the 2016 season, after a clean sweep of the 2015 season podiums, which included a win at Atlantic Motorsport Park one year ago.

Local favourites to watch are Pro Cycle sponsored riders Jacob Shaw-O’Leary from Falmouth, NS and Brandon Pemberton from Windsor, NS. 17-year-old Shaw-O’Leary will be aiming for the top of the podium in the Amateur Sport Bike and Amateur Superbike classes after a strong showing on his Honda at the previous round near Montreal. Pemberton, also 17, is coming into the Nova Scotia round sitting second in points in the Kawasaki Ninja 300 Series after a win in Quebec.

On top of the five National CSBK divisions competing on the weekend, the local racing club will also be showcasing some of their talent. The Society of Atlantic Roadracing League will offer two support classes lending to a full schedule of on track activity.

Also part of the race weekend celebrations will be Pro Cycle’s annual “Fast Bikes” show-n-shine. Held at their new location at 360 Higney Avenue (Dartmouth, NS) on the evening of Thursday, July 14, the event has become a tradition at the Atlantic CSBK round, giving race fans a chance to check out some great looking motorcycles and meet some of their favourite Superbike riders at the same time. Prize draws will also be held for CSBK weekend passes, a Shoei RF-1200 helmet, and more.

Specially priced advance tickets for CSBK Rounds 3 & 4 are available in-store at Pro Cycle and online at www.procycleonline.com.

Pro Cycle has been serving Halifax and surrounding area motorcycle and ATV riders since 1983, and is a proud partner of the Mopar CSBK Championship series.
