The Nine Days of Crevier: Day 5

Leading up to Steve Crevier’s induction into the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame on Saturday evening, November 17 at the Delta Hotel in Burnaby, British Columbia, CSBK are celebrating the career of the soon-to-be-Hall of Famer, a six time Canadian National Superbike Champion and works rider for Yamaha Motor Canada, Yoshimura-Suzuki (x 2!), Canadian Kawasaki, Muzzy-Kawasaki, Honda Canada, Diablo Honda/Suzuki and Deeley Buell/Harley-Davidson.

1993 was Steve Crevier’s second “career year,” and led to his return to full time action on the AMA Pro Tour in the U.S.A.  As well as earning his third straight Canadian National Motoplan/Castrol Superbike title for the Weld Rite Kawasaki team, Crevier was a star on both sides of the border on his production class Supersport Kawasaki ZX-6R, winning the Canadian class title and placing consistently on the podium aboard the same bike as a privateer in the U.S.A.  As well, Crevier made several AMA Pro outings with his Canadian Kawasaki ZX-7R Ninja Superbike.

Pictured is the first lap of Superbike action at Mid-Ohio, with Doug Polen (Ducati # 23) leading Mike Smith (Honda # 68), Miguel Duhamel (Kawasaki # 17), Pascal Picotte (Ducati # 21), Scott Doohan (Ducati # 53), Steve Crevier (Kawasaki # 14),  Jacques “Jet” Guenette Jr. (Yamaha # 39) and Tiger Sohwa (Kawasaki # 60).  Four Canadians in the top seven!
