During the winter of 2022, CSBK will celebrate Suzuki’s 2021 National Manufacturer’s Title with a look back at the history of Suzuki’s production-based racers.  Each Friday will offer a glimpse into the impressive legacy of Suzuki’s success.

In 1987, the works Suzuki Canada program was on top of the Canadian road racing scene, with Michel Mercier sporting his number one plate from overall success in the 1986 season.  Sunoco was the major sponsor, and George Morin continued to run the team with Mike Crompton doing the building and tuning.  Pictured is an elated Mercier celebrating his win in round four of the Nationals at the newly lengthened Shannonville Motorsport Park, aboard the limited edition, homologation special, second-gen Suzuki, the GSX-R750 LTD.
