In 2009, Suzuki Canada opted to rebuild the Blackfoot-backed Picotte Performance squad after a disappointing 2008 campaign.  Moving from three riders to a single pilot, the team was now headed by third-year Pro Brett McCormick, fresh from two seasons as the teammate to the dominant Jordan Szoke at Kawasaki. McCormick and Picotte were clearly on the same page and jelled immediately, and McCormick took four National Feature race victories, but came up just short of Szoke for the Championship.
