Trevor Daley medical update

Bridgestone CSBK star Trevor Daley underwent a successful surgery Saturday morning, July 22, at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax following a serious crash during Friday practice at Atlantic Motorsport Park.

Daley was transported to local hospital with a broken femur and broken hip, caused by a fast incident exiting turn three late in FP1. The OneSpeed Suzuki rider is in good spirits following the procedure, which required a nail and screws.

Daley plans to begin physio as soon as Sunday, with the hope to be discharged from hospital in the coming days and continue his recovery ahead of round four at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

“I’ll do my best to fight to be back for CTMP and at the next event,” Daley said in a Facebook post. “I want to thank everyone who’s messaged me to check in and my team for the support.”

His unfortunate injury happened just one day prior to the cancellation of the third round of the CSBK season due to extreme flooding and erosion of the road into the facility.

“Super bummed for my friends, fellow racers, and everyone from the series for all their efforts and then having to cancel this weekend’s race events due to flooding,” Daley added in his social media update.

Daley currently sits fourth in the GP Bikes Pro Superbike feature championship, and has played a pivotal role in helping Suzuki lead the Constructors standings.
