On the July 19-21 weekend at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Nova Scotia, the 4th round of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship was a great event, but ended abruptly for me.
To begin, I qualified in 4th position in Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike with a good time, and in 12th position in Mopar Pro Superbike.
On Saturday, in very stifling heat, I achieved my best performance in the Pro Sport Bike race by finishing 4th. I maintained a good pace throughout the race and I was very close to the leaders. However, I was determined to finish on one of the three steps of the podium, I was pumped to reach my goal for the next day's race. On the other hand, in the Pro Superbike 1000cc class, I delivered another very good performance in 6th position with my 600cc!
On Sunday, I was really motivated to make a better performance on the Pro Sport Bike race. Indeed, it went perfectly: I was doing the hot fight for the 3rd position against the champion of this category. However, 3 laps before the end of the race, my opponent and I were too fast in a curve. I overflowed the track and violently crashed. Fortunately, I came out with a concussion and back pain only.
I would have really liked to have my moment of glory by finishing this race, but I am still content not to have injured myself more seriously.
I would also like to thank my sponsors and those who participated in this unforgettable weekend!
