Team News: Sebastien Tremblay's Grand Bend Report

What a weekend!

Having made a last minute deal to run Suzukis in the Bridgestone CSBK series, we called every customer we knew who had a well built track bike. Unfortunately, only a GSX-R750 built by Euromoto way back was available. Having secured most race parts needed we now focused on finding GSX-R600.

The deal was made 5 days before departure. We had 4 full days (and nights) to build a race bike out of a stock bike. Those were interesting days!

The bike being finished on Tuesday meant an 8 hour drive to Grand Bend on Wednesday, a track we had mixed results at. Thursday was spent putting miles on the new stead and checking everything twice over. Friday morning we were exploring different setups but fortunately we seemed to be going forward every time.  Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike qualifying was an eye opener, the guys up front were running fast times indeed. More set up time was needed and you guessed it, the stock motor was a challenge.

The goal for Saturday was to continue to improve the bike, a top 3 finish and having fun. What a day! We kept moving forward everytime we got on the track. Finished 2nd in the race well off first but we now knew what to do to go faster. And oh boy did we have fun!

Sunday was pretty much a repeat of Saturday but we wanted to know if the improvements we made to our GSX-R600 would allow us to keep up with fast guy David MacKay. It did, for a while. Mission accomplished.

See you all at Shubenacadie, we will be aiming to improve our finishing position!

We would like to thank everyone that is allowing us to live the dream.

Special thanks to:

Suzuki Canada, Bridgestone, CSBK, Turcotte Performance, Bickle Racing, Hindle, ST Motosport

Team Shaker!
