Team News: Young Withdraws From One Day CSBK Invitational

Ben Young had a spectacular year in 2019 winning 3 races and finishing on the podium 6 times on route to winning his first Pro Superbike Championship. Young was looking forward to defending his title in 2020 aboard the all-new BMW S 1000 RR however like most race series and sporting events globally, the Covid-19 pandemic has cancelled the majority of events.  During the off-season, Young was preparing for the 2020 season and looking forward to taking on all contenders while wearing the #1 number plate proudly on his race bike.

CSBK has decide to run a one day race series, with the first race taking place at Calabogie Motorsports Park this coming weekend. With the support of his sponsors, team members and other industry members, Young has decided to withdraw from the single day event and not compete in this year’s racing series.  “This wasn’t an easy decision” said Young, “especially after the results of last season”.  Young goes on to say, “As a team, we decided that in the best interest of everyone’s health and safety, we not race in this single day race event”.

All of his sponsors including BMW Motorrad Canada understand plus support Young’s decision not to race at this time and have agreed to extend their sponsorship of the Scott-Build Team for the 2021 race season.

At this time, Young would like to thank all of his fans and sponsors for their tremendous support.  The entire Scott-build team wishes everyone taking part in the races this weekend the best of luck, stay safe and healthy.

Young will continue to train for the 2021 season.  He will be coaching in the summer and hopes to get out to local track days when he can.

Thank You!

Ben Young and the Scott-Build Race Team
