Salon Moto de Montreal hosts CSBK Stars

The final Industry-supported Canadian Winter Bike Show of 2019 is well underway at the Palais du Congress in downtown Montreal, February 22-24.  The Salon Moto de Montreal includes a Mopar CSBK display as part of the Liqui Moly booth, where stars of the Canadian National road racing Championship series have been on hand to meet the fans.

Ben Young and Trevor Daley took the “Braveheart Express” into Montreal for the Show, both turned out in the stylish manner pioneered by Daley at the previous weekend’s Motorcycle Show-Toronto.  They made into the Palais in time to participate in the opening autograph session of Saturday, joined by local hero Michael Leon.

“It’s fun to get out, meet the fans and talk about bikes,” explained Leon.  “The winters just seem to get longer and longer, and everyone can’t wait to get back out on their bike.  The racers are the same way.”

For Daley, hitting the show circuit is a good way to establish his new relationship with Suzuki Canada, and take a break from working on his two new GSX-R1000 Superbikes at Fast Company.  “I have some real challenges ahead of me, but new goals are really the whole point of going racing,” smiled “T-Rev.”

“Our new Suzuki attracted so much attention in it’s debut at the Toronto Show last week, and it would have been great to bring it to this show, but we couldn’t get it together in such short notice,” continued Daley.  “I think it is important to be here on Quebec, it’s a great place for race fans, they’re so dedicated.”

“This is a big show, and it’s just as busy on this Saturday as people told me it would be,” started BMW Motorrad team leader Young, who placed second overall in the final overall Mopar Pro Superbike standings in 2018, right behind Jordan Szoke.

“The crowd is really great, and I know we want to get some of these fans out to Autodrome St-Eustache (north west of Montreal) for our National round, June 21-23.  That tight track has been good to me in the past, and we are aiming for a top showing in the final-ever National event at St-Eustache.”

The racers will be signing autographs on Sunday, February 24 at noon, and the show is open on the day from 10AM to 5 PM.
