The season opener of the Society of the Atlantic Roadracing League regional series took place this weekend (May 17-18) at Atlantic Motorsport Park near Shubencadie, NS and Kawasaki rider Ron Munroe stood atop the podium in all three Pro events.
Munroe, who was ARL Superbike champion in 2011 and 2012, won Saturday’s Pro Superbike race along with Sunday’s Superbike race and Pro Sportbike final. The Beaverbank, NS rider was joined on the podium by Upper Coverdale, NB’s Caleb Noiles and Austin Shaw-O’Leary who finished second and third respectively in all three Pro races.
Noiles plans to contest the entire Mopar CSBK season aboard his Honda CBR600RR along with Amateur teammate Carson Brook from East Lawrencetown, NS who won Sunday’s Amateur Sportbike race on his Yamaha R6.
Defending ARL series champion Shaw-O’Leary also plans on competing in all rounds of the CSBK season on his newly acquired Honda CBR600RR. The Falmouth, NS rider is an early favourite for the National tour's stop at Atlantic Motorsport Park after a solid showing against National Sport Bike champion Jodi Christie during last season’s CSBK visit to the East Coast.
ARL competition returns to AMP for round 2 June 14-15.
