Canada’s top motorcycle roadracers, stars of the Mopar CSBK National tour, will be on hand at this weekend’s Toronto Motorcycle Show at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place, February 19-21.
An autograph session is scheduled for 2 PM on Saturday, February 20, hosted by National Series announcer Frank Wood.
Current reigning Mopar National Superbike Champion Jordan Szoke of Lynden, ON, will lead the group of Pro racers attending the Toronto Motorcycle Show. Last year Szoke had a perfect season aboard the Express Lane BMW Motorrad S1000RR, winning all seven races of the season on his way to a record-setting tenth career overall Canadian number one plate.
36 year old Szoke will defend his Championship success with BMW in 2016, and is also considering some appearance in the MotoAmerica National Championship Series in the U.S.A.
Last year’s runner up in the Mopar CSBK Series, Kenny Riedmann of Belfountain, ON, will also be signing at the Toronto Motorcycle Show this weekend. In his first season aboard a full 1000cc Superbike last year, Riedmann challenged Szoke and made a strong impression in the Feature class. As well, Riedmann scored his second straight Hindle Pro Sport Bike National Championship for 600cc class machinery.
Riedmann, 23, has just returned from a Georgia vacation, and will be using Kawasaki equipment in 2016 as he looks for his first career Superbike National win and his third straight Pro Sport Bike title.
Mississauga, ON-based Trevor Daley is one of the most popular riders in the CSBK Series, and finished fifth overall in 2015 after a blown engine spoiled his final race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. In 2014, Daley netted second overall in the feature Pro Superbike category.
Daley’s plans for 2016 are not yet set, but the owner/builder at the famed Onespeed Bike Shop is expected to perform near the front in Superbike action.
Another rider aiming to feature in Pro Superbike is Scottish-Canadian Ben Young of Thornbury, ON. A veteran of the British National tour as well as the American series, Young was a “drop in” racer aboard a Hindle-Yamaha in Pro Sport Bike final round CSBK action in 2016, and narrowly lost the win after a race long battle with Riedmann. 22 year Young is looking to move to the Superbike class during the upcoming season.
The Toronto Motorcycle Show, presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance, runs from noon to 9 PM on Friday; Saturday from 10 AM to 8 PM; and on Sunday, February 21 from 10 AM to 5 PM.
