The Van Dolder’s Home Team Honda squad was officially crowned the 2026 Team of the Year award winners on Sunday, securing the title for the second season in a row and third time overall.
The award is voted on by various Bridgestone CSBK staff members, and was created in 2001 to honour the rider(s), crew and mechanics that best demonstrate an outstanding team effort and high-level program each season.
Other teams to receive votes included the FAST Riding School Suzuki team of Tomas Casas, the Snow City Cycle Honda team of David MacKay, and the Alexander Racing duo of Cole and Lachlan Alexander.
The Van Dolder’s Home Team program has been a longtime supporter of six-time Pro Superbike champion Ben Young, who conquered his fifth Canada Cup in a row in 2026 behind a record-breaking nine victories in ten races.
Young is a four-time winner of the award, taking the honour in 2025 with the same Honda program, in 2022 with Van Dolder’s Home Team BMW, and in 2018 with Scot-Build BMW.
However, while Young enjoyed a career year aboard his CBR1000RR-R, the key difference for the Van Dolder’s Home Team Honda program in 2026 was their support of other riders.
The program is best known for bringing on Cole Alexander in this past weekend’s CTMP finale, helping the 19-year-old make his Superbike debut as Young’s official teammate where he scored an incredible third-place in race one, thanking Young and the team in an emotional podium speech.
Led in tandem by Scott Cartier and Willie Vass, the crew also provided crucial support to fellow Honda competitors David MacKay and Andrew Van Winkle throughout the year, again referenced on Sunday’s podium when the team helped Van Winkle repair his machine following a big crash in race one to help him get back on track for race two, finishing third.
In addition to his own personal success, Young and the team also played a decisive role in helping Honda to their first ever Constructors Championship, dominating the award as he scored 245 of a possible 250 points this season.
Van Dolder’s Home Team will join Mopar Express Lane BMW (2015-17) and Canadian Kawasaki Motors (2006, 2008-09) as the only three-time winners of the award.
