With the arrival of wet weather in the Bowmanville area, the fourth round of the 2023 Bridgestone Canadian Superbike Championship at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park has confirmed changes to their previously announced Friday Schedule.
The Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike and Bickle Racing Pro Twins qualifying session scheduled for 12:15pm Friday has been changed to a practice session. The two scheduled races for these classes on Saturday and Sunday will use a grid based on times set from the opening practice session of Friday’s schedule, run at 9 am.
No points will be awarded for qualifying at CTMP, since the session used to establish the starting grid was not the session announced for that purpose. This is CSBK standard practice.
Afternoon qualifying for all classes except Super Sonic Road Race School Amateur Lightweight Sport Bike are cancelled. Friday morning practice sessions will establish the grids, and no points will be awarded. Sessions in the afternoon will become wet practice, run as listed. Super Sonic Road Race School AM Lightweight Sport Bike qualifying will be run on Saturday morning, instead of the listed practice session.
The secondary Q2 portion of Pro Superbike qualifying, scheduled for 3pm, is now removed.
