The MiniSBK tour staged their third round of 2025 at the third round of the new RACE Moto Regional Series at Shannonville Motorsport Park on Saturday, July 5, the mini’s using the interior Go-Kart layout.  This event also served as a second Canadian-based qualifying round for the MotoAmerica Mission-backed Mini National Series.

In the featured Moto1 class, Stefan Tanasic continued his recent strong form, backing his success in the previous round at Shannonville on June 14 aboard a bigger-wheeled Ohvale 190.  Tanasic started from pole (lap time 48.4 sec) and then set a similar time in his 16-lap race, a new course record.

Stefan Tanasic now leads the championship points standings for the regional series, with the four-race national tour about to begin later this month with a night event in Brechin Motorsport Park, ON, near Orillia, July 25 and 26, in cottage country.

Second place went to the YCF160 of the victor’s father, Aleks Tanasic, 41 seconds back from his dominant son.  Aleks got down to a lap of 50.9 sec, better his Q effort of 51.1 in a good day for his family.  In third was Eric Sergi aboard a Ohvale 160, one lap down with a best time of 51.4 second on the eight turn “inner” layout.

Opening round victor Jager Stockill rejoined the series for the S.M.P. event but struggled to string together laps with his Ohvale 190.  He had issues in Q that prevented his from setting a time, so had to start from the back of the grid.  A world round representative for Canada in Spain last fall, Stockill stormed up to the lead group from the start, only to suffer mechanical issues in turn 5.

The race for the Moto4/MotoAmerica Stock50 category featured points leader Everly Landry on her Honda 50, second fasted qualifier at 1:08.04.  In the race Landry got down to a best lap of 1:06.5 on her way to another victory.

Fast qualifier Austin Da netted second overall, eventually placing 20 seconds behind the victor after fighting for the lead early, with a best lap of 1:08.6 seconds.  In the initial action, 8-year-old rookie Thorleif Grummett was part of the lead dispute, but wound up third, turning a best tour at 1:13.8 sec.

Grummett is the grandson of RACE Moto Series organizers Jill and David Grummett, who took over the regional series at Shannonville Motorsport Park at the start of this season.
