The GP Bikes Pro Superbike grid will get a major addition at round three of the Bridgestone Canadian Superbike Championship, as Sebastien Tremblay is set to return to the class at Calabogie Motorsports Park with special title sponsorship from the upcoming Nelson International Raceway 50th Anniversary event.
While Tremblay will remain aboard his Supersport-spec Suzuki GSX-R750, it will be his first dedicated Superbike effort since 2022, a year in which he scored three podiums and finished fourth in the overall championship.
One of those podiums was notably scored at Calabogie, one of Tremblay’s most successful and beloved tracks where he scored three consecutive Supersport victories in 2020 and 2021.
The Mirabel, QC native will make his return to the venue with a new supporter behind him, partnering with the RACE Moto regional series and its flagship Nelson International Raceway 50th Anniversary celebration to pilot the “Nelson 50th Suzuki” machine for round three of the CSBK season.
The anniversary event is set to take place at the final RACE Moto round at Shannonville Motorsport Park this season, September 25-27, where many of Canada’s best talents are set to go head-to-head in an open-tire event to celebrate the 50th commemoration of racing at Shannonville, formerly called Nelson International Raceway.
The original Nelson circuit was founded by John Nelson, a Toronto area Honda dealer and eventual Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame inductee (class of 2006) who served as the track manager until his death in April 2005.
Calabogie’s third national round is set to run only the feature Pro Superbike and junior Lightweight classes alongside the VRRA, meaning Tremblay would have typically been absent given his focus on the OPP Racing Pro Supersport category, where he leads the championship by one point.
However, the gracious support of the Nelson 50th will allow Tremblay to join the Superbike grid at Calabogie, keeping the two-time champion sharp ahead of round four in Grand Bend and deepening the field at Quebec’s de facto home circuit, while also promoting the signature event at the end of this racing season.
Despite a horsepower disadvantage on his Supersport machine, Tremblay figures to be one of the top podium contenders at Calabogie, having amassed three wins and five podiums there in his pro CSBK career.
The 2021 and 2024 Supersport title winner is chasing his third national crown in 2026, sitting top-five all-time in middleweight victories, podiums, and pole positions, having also scored six Superbike podiums in his career.
The weekend will represent a new test for championship leader and reigning title winner Ben Young, having won all four races in 2026 thus far but remaining without a first career victory at Calabogie, while 14-time champion Jordan Szoke will chase an emotional return to the top of the box at a venue he’s won at five times before.
Tremblay’s title support from Nelson 50th will be joined by his usual feature sponsor, S.T. Motorsport, as well as Suzuki Canada for the third round of the CSBK season.
