Shannonville, ON — After several months away from competition following his appearance at the Daytona 200 in March, Trevor Daley made a highly anticipated return to racing this past weekend at the opening round of the 2025 Bridgestone Canadian Superbike Championship. Piloting his @Onespeedinc Suzuki GSX-R750, Daley showed sharp form, resilience, and racecraft as he took on both the Supersport and Superbike classes at Shannonville Motorsport Park.

Friday’s qualifying sessions set the tone for a competitive weekend. In the Supersport class, Daley secured 7th on the grid in an incredibly tight session that saw the top 10 riders split by less than one second. His lap time was just a tenth off the top three, underscoring both the depth of the field and his competitiveness.

Competing in the GP Bikes Superbike class aboard his 750cc machine against more powerful 1000cc bikes, Daley pushed through to Qualifying 2 — a notable achievement — and locked in another 7th place starting position for the weekend’s premier class races.

Saturday’s races saw Daley charge forward. In the Supersport race, he moved up from 7th to finish a strong 4th after a late-race pass on the final lap. In Superbike, he again showcased his ability to outperform expectations, overtaking two 1000cc competitors mid-race. A late-lap incident involving a lapped rider unfortunately cost him a position, resulting in a 6th place finish.

Sunday’s Supersport race was a highlight of the weekend. Daley launched from 7th to 2nd off the line and took the lead shortly after a red flag restart. After a thrilling battle with Saturday’s winner Torin Collins, Daley crossed the line in 2nd, earning his first podium of the season.

In Sunday’s Superbike contest, Daley again held his own on the underpowered middleweight Suzuki, battling hard for 20 laps in a field dominated by higher-displacement machines, and again securing valuable points.

Leaving Round One, Daley sits 2nd in the Supersport standings and 6th in Superbike, an impressive start given the equipment deficit and fierce competition.

Looking ahead to Round Two at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Nova Scotia, Daley is optimistic. “The tighter layout should help level the playing field a bit,” he said. “We’re only getting stronger, and I’m looking forward to what’s to come.”

Trevor thanks his crew for their effort, fans for their support and race team partners for their support.
